Matanzas, Chile is a very special place that I have been fortunate to visit in 2021 and 2022. There are three main riding spots in the area and more details can be found in my Trip Reports section. The wave spot that we prefer, Roca Cuadrada, is pictured below and is quite intense with a heavy point break, rocky shoreline and gusty wind on the inside. For 2022, we returned as a group of 6 with Arlin Ladue capturing photo and video. November 17-21 brought an incredible stretch of wind and swell and I was lucky to ride some of the best conditions I’ve ever experienced.
