In May 2022 a Nor’easter rolled into Cape Hatteras, causing several houses to collapse into the ocean. This event brought winds well above 40 knots and swell of 12-18 ft. This unexpected event closed highway 12 for several days due to storm surge. Before the destruction, I was able to run a few downwinders with Arlin Ladue taking photos and video.
